ROCHESTER — Rochester Opera House/RPAC executive director Anthony Ejarque is pleased to announce an exciting collaboration between Upala Yoga & Wellness Arts and the Rochester Performance & Arts Center.
Starting December 16th, Upala Yoga & Wellness Arts will relocate their program offerings from their current downtown storefront to RPAC’s Rehearsal Studio, located at 6 Bridge Street in the former Roberge Center.
Upala Yoga & Wellness Arts was founded in 2018 and offers community-based yoga, meditation and mindfulness education, over 14 weekly group yoga practices, private and small group yoga and meditation practices for individuals, organizations and families. They also offer group classes in vinyasa and hatha yoga, meditation, restorative yoga, chair yoga, kids yoga, teen yoga, and senior yoga.
“I began this organization to offer yoga education for all ages and all levels of practice. Over the past few years, we have taught hundreds kids and adults in our studio and well over 450 kids and teens in community outreach programs through after-school yoga programs, Rochester Teen Night, Spaulding’s special education department, preschools, and much more.
We have an amazing community in Rochester, and multi-business collaboration in downtown is growing. Collaborating with RPAC is exciting! This partnership will continue our in-studio schedule while growing our youth programs with a combined student base to offer more self-development, mindfulness, and yoga while helping to improve physical and emotional health and wellness. The expanded space of RPAC’s rehearsal studio will allow our classes to grow even further.” said Heather Robert Day, founder of Upala.
The move is just a short walk from Upala’s current location. Yoga classes are a welcome addition to the programming at RPAC, which already offers a wide variety of lessons and classes in music, art, theatre, and dance.
“We’re excited to partner with Upala. We want RPAC to be a place where the community can find a diverse range of program offerings. Upala is a great addition to what we are already cultivating in downtown Rochester.” said Anthony Ejarque.
