With the ongoing federal government shutdown now more than a month old, one Rochester business owner is taking steps to help federal workers’ fur babies.

Pug Life Smoke and Vape Shop is currently running a pet food drive to help ease the burden faced by federal workers who have gone unpaid during the shutdown.

Owner Heather Sondrini and the store’s resident pugs, who serve as the namesake for the store, have invited anyone would like to help to do so by bringing unused pet food to the shop at 71 N. Main St. Any cash donations will be used to purchase Petco gift cards for pets that require specialized food. and residents impacted by the shutdown are invited to come and make use of the donations.

Those who make donations will receive small gifts in return for their generosity.

Pug Life is on Facebook at Facebook.com/puglifesmoke.
